Norton Antivirus (now known as Symantec Antivirus) is probably the most popular antivirus program around. However there are various issues with Symantec Antivirus, issues which make the product hard to recommend for home users. These issues are mostly related to the fact that Symantec Antivirus is not compatible with some firewall and other security products. Moreover Symantec Antivirus is known to consume a lot of system resources, especially if your PC is not so powerful. However this problem seems to be less of an issue today since apparently the Symantec Antivirus engine has been largely rewritten.
