Firewall Sp2 Window XpUnlike previous version of Windows XP, Windows XP comes with an inbuilt free firewall. To ensure you have the most recent version of the Windows XP firewall you must ensure that you have Windows XP service pack 2. To verify that you have service pack 2 installed, go to Start | Control Panel | System and check the version of your service pack in the general tab. If you cannot see any service pack information than you don’t have any service pack installed. If you have enabled automatic updates then you should have the latest service pack version, otherwise you can download the latest service pack from the Windows Update page. The Windows XP firewall is enabled by default. To check whether your Windows XP firewall is enabled or not, go to Start | Control Panel | Windows Firewall. The Windows XP firewall is configurable and you can edit or add firewall rules to your pleasure. It is not recommended that you disable the firewall unless you are having trouble connecting to the internet or are using another firewall.
