How To Defrag PcTo defrag the hard drive of my computer you need to use a defragmenter. A free defragmenter can be found in Windows 98 / Me / 2000 / XP / Vista / 2000 Server / 2003 Server. To access the free Windows defragmenter, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Disk Defragmenter. Then choose the drive that you want to defragment and press the Analyze button. Disk Defragmenter will then inform you if the hard disk needs to be defragmented or otherwise. If will also warn you to delete some unneeded files if you have less than 15% of free space space. To start the defragmentation process press the “Defragment” button. This process might need to be repeated depending on the level of fragmentation.
